CULift is Cornell’s shuttle service for students with mobility challenges, operating through Student Disability Services (SDS). Unlike commercial ride services, all rides are pre-scheduled weekly through SDS, with no direct driver-student communication.
Find the right pickup location.
Students struggle to locate exact pickup spots using the current abstract map system, leading to missed rides and classes. A student reported: “I waited on the wrong side of the building for 20 minutes, missing my class because I couldn’t find the CULift vehicle.”
Make pre-ride navigation clear.
The app provides street-view images of both pickup and dropoff locations, replacing the abstract map system that often led to confusion.
